SOCAPALM Extends Its Support to IDPs, Refugees in Bogo Community

On Friday, 6 November 2026, Socapalm will hold a major donation ceremony in Bogo, located in Cameroon’s Far North Region. Organized under the auspices of its Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Hamadou Sali, this initiative represents a 20 million CFA francs commitment to support refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) facing severe hardships. Beyond material assistance, the initiative reflects a core corporate conviction: a company’s responsibility is measured not just by its economic output, but by its willingness to alleviate human suffering even beyond its primary operational zones. Preparations are fully underway. Having arrived in Maroua ahead of the event, Socapalm’s delegation is finalizing arrangements alongside Board Chairman Mr. Hamadou Sali before heading to Bogo to deliver practical relief to displaced families. Mr. Sali is accompanied by key executive leaders, including Socapalm’s Secretary-General, Mr. Kamta Germain Jules, and the Head of Communications. Their presence highlights an initiative backed by top institutional leadership, operational coordination, and a clear commitment to putting human-centered values into practice. For a leading agro-industrial enterprise, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) extends far beyond production metrics and financial balance sheets. It requires active engagement with vulnerable populations. By supporting displaced families in the Far North, Socapalm acknowledges that humanitarian challenges demand a collective response one uniting public authorities, local leaders, civil society, and the private sector. While the 20 million CFA francs package provides immediate, tangible relief, its symbolic value carries even greater weight. It signals to displaced families that their plight has not been forgotten. Specific details regarding the items and their distribution will be disclosed during the official ceremony. “The true measure of a company is not only what it produces, but also the positive difference it is prepared to make in people’s lives,” the company emphasized.”By standing alongside vulnerable families in Bogo, Socapalm is reaffirming a simple but fundamental principle: solidarity must be expressed through action, with dignity, respect, and a genuine sense of shared responsibility.” This outreach initiative aligns with Socapalm’s broader, long-term social commitments across Cameroon. Around its operating sites, the company actively invests in regional development by: Assisting 72 local schools annually. Constructing and refurbishing classrooms while supplying essential desks and benches.Funding the salaries of over 100 teachers to ensure quality instruction.Partnering with neighboring communities to identify and execute tailored development projects.

The upcoming ceremony on November 6 is set to be more than a routine handover of relief materials. It stands as a practical demonstration that meaningful social responsibility relies on active listening, continuity, and deep respect for human dignity. In Bogo, Socapalm reinforces its vision of corporate citizenship translating compassion into concrete action and fostering sustainable social progress across the region.
