Socapalm Dibombari Football Tournament Ends in Frenzy

For years, the Socapalm Dibombari site has used sports as a cornerstone to build fellowship, unity, and team spirit among its workforce. On Thursday, October 8, 2026, this annual tradition reached a thrilling climax at the Nkoumé playing ground as the finals of both the male and female football tournaments were decided. Far more than a simple athletic contest, the day stood as a powerful testament to corporate solidarity and community cohesion. The atmosphere at Nkoumé stadium was electric, packed with passionate fans from across the plantation camps. Both the women’s and men’s final matches delivered equal intensity, suspense, and ultimate scores on the board.

In the women’s final, Team Hévéa secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Team Palmier. Reflecting on her team’s journey,Eboa Mbappe Larissa Christine, captain of the victorious Hévéa FC, shared her emotion: “Words truly fail me it is a moment of pure joy and emotion. Given the immense pressure at the start and all the excitement, we weren’t sure if we could reach this level. But fortunately, God was on our side and, powered by our incredible supporters, we pulled through. I’m particularly proud of our defense because I love to fight for the backline.Every year, the management pulls out all the stops to organize a top-tier championship, and we are deeply grateful for this wonderful experience.” The men’s final matched the women’s drama step-for-step, pitting Hévéa South against Securities FC. In a tense encounter, Hévéa South edged out their opponents 1–0 to lift the trophy. Noé Mioulsopè, team leader for Hévéa South, credited his squad’s preparation and veteran leadership for the victory: “Hévéa has two teams North and South. Our final was thoroughly prepared physically, mentally, and in every aspect, backed fully by our leaders. As one of the veteran players on the pitch, my role was to galvanize the younger players so we wouldn’t let this final slide away. We started our engines, turned on the diesels, put everything on the line, and the result speaks for itself.”

Beyond the athletic triumphs, the day held deep emotional weight for the Socapalm family. The tournament served as a poignant moment of remembrance and tribute to their late colleague,Mr. Ferdinand Nichinzoh, whose final memorial services began the following day, October 9.The event demonstrated that at Socapalm, team spirit does not end at the final whistle it endures through shared grief, fellowship, and unwavering mutual support. The sports festival was the culmination of two months of intensive activities. According to Owona Yves Casimir, President of Coslo Socapalm Dibombari and head of the organizing committee, the initiative extended beyond football: “It is a real pleasure to welcome everyone to our plantation to experience this climax of our athletic program. Since early August, we have run a structured calendar featuring Ludo, marathons, women’s games, and football across our various camps to keep the community vibrant.Under the guidance of the Plantation Directorate and General Management, our core focus this year has been social cohesion the founding principle set by leadership. Throughout the day, we saw that cohesion, team spirit, and fair play in action. My team and I are thrilled that the tournament concluded smoothly without any major incidents.
