Humanitarian Excellence: Dr. Stephan Jonathan Din Honored with Prestigious Gold Award

On Thursday, May 28, 2026, the Republican Collective of Publication Directors (CRDP) presented its prestigious Gold Award for Corporate Citizenship to Dr. Stephan Jonathan Din, President of the Open Hearts Community association.The ceremony, held at a hotel in the Bonapriso neighborhood (Douala I subdivision), brought together media leaders, dignitaries, and advocates to celebrate an exceptional life of humanitarian service.The jury’s unanimous decision follows a thorough investigation into Dr. Din’s career, which spans more than fifteen years dedicated to uplifting the most vulnerable segments of Cameroonian society. A multifaceted leader, Dr. Din serves as the CEO of LCL TV, Open Hearts Community TV, and Wiseman TV, the founder of the CBC Living Price Ministry, and is a prolific author on leadership, finance, and personal development. Yet, despite his many professional hats, his core focus remains unchanged: serving others.Visibly moved by the recognition, Dr. Din emphasized that the award represents something much larger than himself: “This prize reveals the value of patriotism it represents a group of young people who dedicate themselves to serving the nation, striving to find what they can contribute to building a prosperous and better Cameroon.”Rather than viewing the award as a career pinnacle, he noted that it stands as an obligation to expand his humanitarian reach even further.Meanwhile, Dr. Din’s philanthropic footprint across Cameroon is both deep and enduring. Speaking at the event, Mr. Francis Éboute highlighted the core mission of these efforts in his welcoming remarks:”Giving them back hope and the feeling of being loved and protected.”2010:Organized a major day of support for the Biyem-Assi District Hospital.2011: Distributed 600 bags of rice to impoverished families in the Étoa-Meki neighborhood of Yaoundé.2012:Donated 3 million FCFA worth of food and clothing to 1,000 UNHCR-registered refugees in the Littoral region.2013–2014: Provided critical donations to the New-Bell Central Prison and funded the production of national identity cards for street children.2015–2018: Launched an annual school supply distribution drive and conducted frequent outreach to orphanages in Dibombari, New-Bell, and Bojongo. 2020–2021: Directed aid to the Medical Center for Children with Down Syndrome in Ndogbong and leprosy patients in Dibamba. Hosted a massive Christmas tree event in Bonapriso, bringing holiday joy and gifts to over 1,000 residents.Guided by the motto Love, Discipline, and Work, Dr. Din’s initiatives reached a new milestone with the official, legal registration of the Open Hearts Community association in 2024.However,during the ceremony, Vice President Wayne Benel presented the association’s impressive 2025 Annual Report, showcasing rapid growth and operational excellence across Cameroon and Zambia:Sector Achievement Metrics of (2025) stands out as follows :28 editions of Restaurant de Cœur (Restaurant of the Heart) A free soup kitchen operating every Saturday, serving nearly 3,000 hot meals to the homeless in Douala. Education, Remedial courses provided to 100 students, resulting in a remarkable 84% pass rate on official exams. Entrepreneurship, 20 conferences hosted, training and inspiring over 1,500 aspiring entrepreneurs.

Financial Integrity 11,424,000 FCFA raised, with an incredible 88% directly redistributed to beneficiaries, underscoring rigorous financial management. |”Every act of solidarity, however simple, can transform a life,” Benel concluded, summarizing the driving spirit of the movement.True to his reputation as a builder, Dr. Din is already looking toward the next horizon. His future roadmap includes constructing free primary schools, investing heavily in local agriculture, and creating sustainable job opportunities for young Cameroonians.Quoting a classic maxim on the enduring power of empowerment, Dr. Din noted,”The roots of education are bitter, but the fruits are sweet.” With this latest recognition from the republican press, his journey of turning bitter societal challenges into sweet opportunities for the youth continues with renewed momentum.
