Tuesday April 28, 2026, the village of Ndombè became the stage for a significant step forward in rural development. In a ceremony marked by gratitude and forward-looking cooperation, Socapalm Kienké officially handed over three all-terrain motorcycles to the villages of Ndombè, Bilolo, and Bikondo. The event, which presented the community projects for 2025, was attended by the representative of the Divisional Officer of Kribi II, local traditional rulers, and residents. Beyond the equipment handover, the ceremony served as a formal renewal of the partnership between the agro-industrial giant and its neighboring communities. The ceremony was structured around three pillars:Open discussions regarding the shared future of the region. The signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with village management committees to ensure transparency.

The handover of high-performance motocross bikes designed for difficult coastal terrain.Berto Dwoboyi Sime Head of the Administrative and Accounting Department (CSAC) at Socapalm Kienké, emphasized that this gesture is a direct response to community needs. “Every year, we receive requests outlining specific challenges. These motorcycles, valued at over two million CFA francs, are not ordinary bikes. They are tools designed for rural accessibility, allowing residents to reach fields and remote areas that are otherwise inaccessible.”However, the impact of these donations was best captured by the traditional leaders who serve as the bridge between Socapalm and the people. Her Majesty Nambvoumbo Prudence Chief of Ndombè”Socapalm has supported us for six years now. I have already benefited from five community projects from marquees and brush cutters to the chairs and tables we use. As a chief without a car, this motorcycle is a source of immense pride. It means I can attend meetings and manage village affairs without the burden of transport costs.”His Majesty Sangouala Saint-Simon chief of Bilolo”There was a time when local residents received nothing. But through the tripartite and bipartite frameworks we’ve established, we now benefit every year. This reflects a genuine, maturing relationship.”His Majesty Yima Mabali Chief of Bikondo”Because Bikondo is in an urban zone, we cannot create palm groves like other villages. We chose these motorcycles because they are versatile tools. They will assist with our daily needs and even help transport school children who live far away. Our task now is to ensure their long-term viability through proper maintenance and management.”While the motorcycles represent a victory for local mobility, the dialogue also touched on the future. The chiefs expressed hope for continued budget increases and larger-scale projects—such as vehicles for all-weather transport—to keep pace with the growing needs of the Kribi II district.By aligning corporate policy with the “realities of the terrain,” Socapalm continues to move beyond simple philanthropy toward a model of genuine community empowerment.
