Post-Electoral Period: CPRSR Party Drums for Peace, Reconciliation

The Cameroon Party for Peace, Reconciliation, Stability and Reconstruction (CPRSR), a newly registered political entity, is urging all national stakeholders to prioritize dialogue, peace, and national healing in the aftermath of the October 12, 2025, elections. However, registered with the Ministry of Territorial Administration on November 9, 2023, the CPRSR states that the recent elections, while demonstrating the nation’s democratic spirit, have also highlighted profound national weaknesses, distrust, and suspicion. In an official statement presented to the press Tuesday October 21,2025 in Douala, the party asserts that Cameroon must move “beyond the results” and its internal disparities. The CPRSR positions itself as a new platform created specifically to foster a more “peaceful and patriotic political consciousness,” centered on reconciliation, dialogue, and national reconstruction.

The party calls on all “vital forces” and stakeholders including the media (to prioritize factual information), youth (to remain engaged but clear-minded), and state institutions(to preserve public trust through transparency and justice)to reject hate speech, manipulation, and all forms of violence.
Recognizing the public’s widespread fatigue with the multitude of political parties that have failed to bring about concrete change since the introduction of multipartism, the CPRSR leadership remains optimistic about its distinctive mission.

Mr. Fonji Ngwa, the party’s Secretary-General, acknowledged the failure of multipartism to fully solve national problems, stating, “There’s the necessity for something new to come.Cameroon needs healing. There’s a state of antagonism People don’t walk again the way they’re supposed to walk.”

He stressed that the party’s core purpose is to address the palpable loss of trust and the deep-seated divisions plaguing the nation. He spoke passionately of a mission to “heal the country” and focus on the fundamental values of humanity: “We need to come back to ourselves and feel the fact that we are human.I should start feeling that you are my brother.”

In addition, clarifying the party’s foundation, Mr. Kamdoum Brice Gervais, the National President, distanced the party from any specific religious doctrine. While acknowledging a “divine vision,” he clarified that the CPRSR’s mandate is non-denominational and focuses on promoting human dignity, dialogue, and social justice.

Mr. Kamdoum stated that the party is not here to change the nation’s historical vision of “Peace, Work, Country,” but to ensure that citizens are not “used as shields” for others’ goals. He emphasized that the CPRSR is committed to upholding national laws and acting for the collective good.

Nevertheless, the CPRSR maintains that it is not merely another political party but a platform for national mobilization born out of a deep conviction that sustainable recovery requires a collective commitment to peace and stability.

The party aims to be a bridge between generations, regions, faiths, and social classes, uniting people around a social project centered on equitable development and mediation.Under the leadership of Mr. Kamdoum Brice Gervais, the CPRSR has pledged to be a responsible actor in political dialogue and a dedicated builder of the future, convinced that Cameroon can return to being a “heaven of peace and progress.”
