Organisers of the second edition of the pharmaceutical Exhibition has called on all stakeholders within the industry to turnout during this year’s edition that will take place in Douala from September 11-13. This was made during a press conference organised by the national pharmaceutical society in Douala on August 12 2025. The International Pharmaceutical Industry Exhibition, or PHARMA EXPO is an innovative platform for sharing experiences and initiate discussions on issues related to the National Development Strategy (NDS30). The event has a scientific and commercial character.

Investing in the health system in Africa is essential to achieving development goals. Governments, communities, and international institutions must collaborate to achieve these fundamental goals. Reasons why at the press conference, the national president of the of the National Pharmaceutical Society Dr Nana Sambou Frank reiterated that during the second edition focus will be on national production of both conventional and improved traditional medicine, examining their strength and witnesses and see how to improve. He said the theme for this year is “Import substitution of conventional drugs”. The theme, he went on, will provide an opportunity to present the pharmacy sector from several angles, with an emphasis on the establishment of an import-substitution system, the popularization and promotion of the research results of young researchers, pharmacists, chemists, and physiotherapists, the harmonization of regulations, and awareness-raising on the pharmacist’s role in the healthcare system, particularly universal health coverage (UHC).It should be noted that the Pharmaceutical Industry Exhibition, or PHARMA EXPO, will serve as a forum to promote the role of the pharmacist in the development and improvement of traditional medicines, explore the challenges related to the integration of traditional practices into modern medicine. Present the latest advances in pharmaceutical research and promote the transfer of skills as well as strengthen pharmaceutical innovation capacities in Africa.
