Curtains drop on the Digital Innovation Festival in Douala Today October 17

Digital technologies are rapidly changing and evolving, which in turn increases competition and the need for companies to innovate quickly. Business landscapes are becoming increasingly complex. New technologies and processes such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain to name a few are such niche subject matters that it takes specialised technicians to really understand and develop technology innovation further. For a company to be successful nowadays they need to embrace these advancements which will not only help their business today but future proof for success. The 3rd Edition of the digital innovation festival that opens in Douala on October 15 will feature discussion on how to develop digital spaces in the Africa. It is aim at boosting the innovation ecosystem in Cameroon, promoting new technological initiatives by offering a networking platform innovation stakeholders (incubators, accelerators, investors, public decision-makers, etc.), the DIF local entrepreneurship, encouraging digital inclusion and above all generating investment for the very promising sector of technological innovation.

The Digital Innovation Festival (DIF ) organized by the Activ Spaces Association is holding under the theme Innovate to Prosper . With this, During the opening of the festival in Douala on October 15, the Director of Active Spaces Steve Tchoumba emphasized that they were bent on bringing digitalization to all corners of Cameroon including the rural areas. For him all the players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Africa and more particularly in Cameroon have to come on board .He disclosed that “the Digital Innovation Festival offers an exceptional program that conferences, professional meetings and workshops led by digital experts will allow its audience to learn more about technology”.

While representing the minister of Post and Telecommunications, Dr Denise Ngae said they are out to support such activities as ICT is central in the development of every country today. He added that Innovation to Prosper ensure that both the government and the private sector use digitalisation to grow.
For the Operations Director of Active Spaces Djamo Dahiru, this year’s edition features the hackathon whereby 100 youths from the 10 regions of Cameroon were present to work and sort solutions to some digital challenges, exhibition stands and international experts to talk on specific topics to create better impacts.
The Digital innovation Festival that opened in Douala on October 15 will lasted till October 17.
