The foodstuff will go a long way to ensure a beautiful feast

Prior to the feast of the Ramadan, Muslim faithfuls in Douala and beyond have benefited from food items that will enable them celebrate with little or no difficulties. The food stuffs made up of flour, rice, spagathi, vegetable oil powder soap amongst others were offered on May 2, 2021. The benevolent gesture from the Alliance Nationale des Jeunes Musulmans du Cameroon, ANJMC was aimed at offering the basic to ensure a beautiful feast at the end of the fasting.
While handing over the gifts, the president of ANJMC El Hadj Mouhamadou Yakoubou said the activity is in its 8th edition and it is aim at providing the basic for both the poor and well to do Muslim faithfuls. The peculiarity this year he went on, is that they offered to Muslim out of Douala including Edea, Nkongsamaba and Yaoundé. He said they have over 500 recipients, while thanking all the Companies that help in the provision of the food items. He added that the cost of all the items offered is about 7.5 million. To him, the activity is also to show love and generosity during the Ramadan. This year is particular due to the Covid 19 pandemic as such he called on the beneficiaries to used it judiciously.
In effect, the secretary general in the littoral governor’s office Aboubakary Haman Tchiouto has warned the beneficiaries not to resell the items. He said the items are it meant for them to prepare eat and share. He thanked the ANJMC for the benevolent gesture while promising his support in subsequent editions.

The secretary general used the opportunity to sensitize the Muslim faithfuls on the existence of Covid 19. He reminded them that the littoral region recently launched a vaccination campaign against Covid 19 as such he encouraged them to get vaccinated and stay safe of Covid.
