Journalists as peace Builders

Members of the Cameroon Community Media Network CCMN North West have renewed their commitment towards the second phase of their peace building activities, which remains the fundamental bedrock on which the network was created. This was during the chapter’s network meeting that held in Bamenda on August 21 chaired by the networks Regional Coordinator, Rosaline Akah Obah.

To adopt a journalism practice that puts humanity first as they attempt to end the conflict and also bring development via their reporting, the chapter is poised on looking at the bigger picture, which is reflected in what they all did during the first quarter of the network’s engagements in peace building via peace journalism reporting and conflict transformation.

During the meeting, members evaluated their past activities, charted the road map for chapter’s network activities for the second quarter of 2020, renewed commitment by members as well as new network activities to be executed in the days ahead.

It was also an opportunity for members to receive Covid-19 kits thanks to the Centre for International Development and Training CIDT in the University of Wolverhampton while reinforcing the executive of the chapter for a smooth running of the network’s activities.
