The right Rev, Fonki has challenged the newly ordained to work for the growth of the church

The Presbyterians Church in Cameroon-PCC has been enriched with 23 new pastors out of which are 11 women. The pastors that were ordained on Wednesday 11 of December in Douala have pledged their total commitment to the service of God.
After spending five years at the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Kumba, the 23 new servants of God are now ripe to serve the church and to win more souls for Christ.
While ordaining the fresh pastors at Presbyterian Church Bonaberi- Douala, the Moderator of the PCC Rev Fonki Samuel cautioned them not to degenerate into the things of the world. In his homily from the book of Revelation 3: 1-6 he urged them to be alert and watch over themselves and the Christians that will be under them. He said their ordination is a wakeup call and not a bed of roses. “Don’t expect applauses and praises but be ready for abuses and condemnation. While others will focus to bring you down be focus on those who are ready to build” Rev Fonki said. He equally advised them to respect the doctrines of the church.
The moderator reminded them, that they have been chosen to serve and not to be served as a result they should not be bought over by detractors. He regretted that the image of the church has been tainted especially on the social media. He therefore called on the newly ordained to help in cleaning the image of the church. He also used the opportunity to ask the Presbyterian Christians to forgive the church and remain steadfast.
The newly ordained pastors have been posted in congregations within the 27 presbyteries of the PCC.
