Female IDPs Receive Assistance
In continuation of Menstrual Hygiene Day activities, talks on how to maintain hygiene, sanitary pads and food stuff were given to them.
Some 60 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) all women living in Bonaberi- Douala have been offered gifts on how to manage their menstrual hygiene. They received items such as sanitary pads, 12 bags of rice and two cartoons of magi and more. An NGO known as Rising Hope Foundation For Change came in to join the women and girls celebrate World Menstrual Hygiene Day which was celebrated on May 28, 2019. Rising Hope Foundation For Change continued recently , at Presbyterian Church Bonaberi-Douala were the gifts were offered.Dr. Nguti Anita, a medical doctor at Mbingo Baptist Hospital Mboppi, educated the girls on menstrual cycles, menstrual hygiene, the irregularities that may occur. In her presentation she told the women to watch out for signs of fibroid which is usually associated with having longer menses, unusual heavy bleeding and bleeding more than once in a cycle as well as the risk factors of uterine fibroid. The team of Rising Hope Foundation For Change lead by its Country Coordinator, Efu Kelvine Fonkeng, were appreciated by the Associate Pastor of PC Bonaberi-Douala, Rev Winsinyui Godwin, for impacting the girls with menstrual education, pads and foodstuff. He prayed God to continue to bless their endeavours as they continue to impact the lives of the less privilege in the society. While blessing them for choosing his congregation for the gesture, he called on people of goodwill to reach to this group of persons for they are in dire need of support. One of the beneficiaries, Koko Angelin, rejoiced that the knowledge acquired will help her better understand her cycle.Rising Hope Foundation was founded in 2013 by Mbenja Clovert Anamani and has as vision to bringing hope, smiles and happiness to the underprivileged. It has been providing best and sustainable projects to impact the lives and communities in Cameroon and Africa as a whole.
